  • A Tribute to Louis Brown

After eleven years of roaming the beautiful, Peppermill acres, Louie has been laid to rest near his favorite bench by Winn Lake. Louie was a good dog and will be greatly missed, especially by his two favorite brothers, Matthew and Brandon Brown. Even after Matthew and Brandon had moved away from Lapeer years ago, Louie's ears still perked up when he heard their names mentioned. Dad and Mom cared so well for him and comforted him until his last breath.
    We will miss you, Louie!

Xanga seems to have restricted me from posting pictures or creating a new album. There are pictures buried somewhere on my Xanga page. Otherwise, see my facebook page.

  • Quick Pics

Finally, I'm sitting down to update my page.  There's been so much going on this spring/summer.  I have this feeling that summer isn't here, yet.  "Summer" and "relaxing" used to be synonymous to  me -- used to be.  So, summer IS here, and I realize it just takes more work these days to make our lives slow down.

    Another MOVE...

    Our LONG Roadtrip
    Virginia Beach, VA

Sorry the pics are sideways. I played around with them a bit to try to fix them, but gave up. It's easier to turn your head sideways - or at least takes less time.

Kyra enjoyed seeing this tall statue of Neptune, which she referred to as "the big monkey." You can only see part of it in this pic:

We were able to meet up with my cousin Cherith and her husband Shane. Kyra ate her ice cream about as fast as it was melting into a soupy mess.

We were able to hang out with the staff families quite a bit. It was a blast watching Kyra and her new friend Anna Testa play together. (Joe and Kelsey Testa (w/ 3 kids Ali, Micah, and Anna) just joined our MSU staff team.  We miss them, and can't wait until they return to MI.

Kyra and Micah were great in the car! It was our first, long roadtrip (785 miles) and it went much more smoothly than I anticipated, especially with the four of us packed in our little Hyundai.

    Still more pictures...

Micah's physical therapy. His therapist, Dana, just resigned from her clinical position to stay at home with her kids. She was great with Micah! We'll miss her, but we're happy for her new (and hard) job!

This is the back deck of our new townhouse. Kyra and Micah love to feed the ducks after we eat dinner out here.

    Kyra's a great BIG SISTER.

We were at Dad and Mom's, having a birthday bonfire for Dad.

Whew! Just a few more random pictures.

  • Spring is Here!

The last 3 days it's been near 70 degrees. We've taken advantage of these warm days because who knows when the winter winds might blow again. It's Michigan, after all. The forecast shows snow this coming weekend. We make the most of these Spring teaser days.

The two kids had fun playing on the enormous playground, while Micah and I took pics.

((( I could have spent more time editing these pics, but instead i'll just post them in what appears to be haphazard  arrangement. It's odd because when i set it up, they're arranged how I want them, and then when I save it, the actual page looks cockamaney crooked! Oh, brother! )))

  • Easter

Micah's skin was the best it's looked in months! Too bad we didn't take too many pictures. I don't even have one of Kyra and Micah in their Easter outfits!
We hosted Easter dinner this year, so I'll use that as an excuse for the lack of pics. I wanted to make sure everyone was fed and happy.   To celebrate, we went to the early service at Riverview church. Papa and Nana came and colored Easter eggs with the kids. For dinner Matt's sister Laura and her boyfriend Johnny, as well as our friend Ben Carlton joined us. It was such a fun day! Again there are no pictures to verify that

    Micah's first Easter

Shortly after Easter, Papa and Kyra planted tomatoes and flowers together.

Micah surprised us when he seemed to enjoy alone play time in his exersaucer. He's our cuddly, social one so I thought training him to play by himself would be traumatic. I guess this is when his laid back personality shines through. Whew!

Of course, wrestling with Daddy is much more fun...

    Sushi
Sushi is one of Kyra's favorite meals. Here's her first attempt at making her own sushi rolls. She did such a good job that we served hers for dinner.

Naps are rare, but ones like these sure are sweet...
